Successful pitch at the Documentary Networking Days in Leipzig

Together with Sabine Kraft, production manager at Balance Film, I presented our project "The man who said NO to Hitler" (WT) at the Documentary Networking Days in Leipzig at the end of October. In the film, I explore the question of the extent to which the strong resurgence of right-wing structures, especially in East Germany, reveals repetitive (behavioural) patterns that we should all be familiar with because of Nazi history. What distinguishes the people who fight back? On the one hand, in the film I tell the story of a man from the Nazi era who was very aware of the ever worsening situation and yet stubbornly opposed it - always following his conscience. He was murdered by gas in Pirna in 1941 at the age of 35. Where do we stand today? How can we deal with the Nazis' strategies of fear and scaremongering and defend ourselves against them? Wer sind die Menschen heute, die sich mutig dagegen stellen? What is their motivation? After the pitch, there were first talks with interested TV stations. Now I am busy researching and looking forward to an exciting new year, where we will hopefully make great progress in the production.
